Hi! For those who do not know me, my name is Amanda. I am a mom, teacher, business owner, and most importantly — someone who has always had a passion for caring for and teaching little ones. I hold my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and have worked with children of all ages for over 18 years as a Substitute Teacher, Middle School Teacher, and owner of a licensed in-home child care program, A Mom’s Love & Care LLC.

After just a few years of running my in-home daycare, I found myself with a waitlist of over 30 families seeking care for their little ones. While I loved the close relationships and “home away from home” environment that an in-home setting offered, I knew there was a greater need in our community for quality child care. That became my motivation to open Little Cub Academy — a place where we could continue providing loving, individualized care while helping even more families.

What makes Little Cub Academy unique is that although we have grown, we have worked incredibly hard to maintain that warm, family-like feeling that made my in-home program so special. We believe children thrive when they feel safe, loved, supported, and known. Our team takes the time to truly build relationships with our children and families, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels at home.

Over the past 2.5 years, Little Cub Academy has grown tremendously — not only in enrollment, but in the quality, professionalism, and educational experiences we provide. We are proud participants in Wisconsin’s YoungStar Program, an optional quality improvement system designed to help child care centers continuously learn, grow, and exceed expectations. In just a short time, Little Cub Academy earned a 4-Star YoungStar Rating, an accomplishment that is uncommon for a newer center and reflects the dedication, passion, and hard work of our entire team.

At Little Cub Academy, we focus on creating a fun, safe, nurturing, and educational environment where children can learn, grow, socialize, and thrive. Each classroom follows a consistent daily routine to help children feel confident, supported, and successful. Our teachers work collaboratively to create engaging weekly themes and hands-on lesson plans focused on literacy, math, science, art, fine motor, gross motor, and social-emotional development.

Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed with learning centers including dramatic play, reading, math and manipulatives, building blocks, science, sensory exploration, and more — encouraging children to learn through play, creativity, and discovery. We also create individual student portfolios to celebrate milestones, track growth, and help set meaningful developmental goals for each child.

Most importantly, our teachers and administrative team go above and beyond every day to support not only our children, but one another. We believe when teachers feel supported, children thrive — and our team works hard to create a positive, welcoming environment for every child and family who walks through our doors.

We all know parenting is amazing, but it can also be exhausting — and sometimes it truly takes a village. At Little Cub Academy, we strive to be more than just a child care center. We want to be a trusted partner for families — a safe, loving place where children can build friendships, gain confidence, explore the world around them, and prepare for a bright future.
